Strong & Hanni prides itself on the collegiality of its attorneys and training opportunities for associates. The firm provides formal mentor relationships between partners and associates, monthly firm-wide in-house CLE training, and significant case management and client interaction opportunities for associates early on in their careers. Strong and Hanni’s attorneys come from a variety of backgrounds and bring to their practices varied interests and perspectives that foster the innovation and broad creative approaches the firm seeks to cultivate in meeting its clients needs. Outside of the office, Strong & Hanni attorneys and staff are active in their communities, filling bar section and professional organization leadership positions, fielding a Wasatch Back relay race team, assisting with the Young Lawyer’s Division’s Wills for Heroes program, and presenting at numerous state and national trainings, to name just a few activities.
Each summer associate receives mentoring from the attorneys in the firm. The attorneys review the summer associates work and provide guidance and direction to improve the summer associates writing skills, research skills and time management skills.
Summer associates are not assigned to a particular practice group or attorney. Summer associates will be given assignments from different attorneys and practice groups. Summer associates are encouraged to do work for as many of the attorneys both to broaden the summer associate’s experience and to allow the summer associate to meet and interact with all the attorneys.
Summer associates are invited to accompany attorneys at trials, hearings, depositions, witness interviews, settlement conferences, mediations, closings, client meetings and seminar presentations to learn more about practicing law.
Reviews and Offers
All summer associates are given on-going reviews and a final review. The on-going reviews help summer associates gauge their progress at the firm and identify and address any problem that needs attention before the final review. The final review evaluates each summer associates performance and establishes a benchmark for offer decisions.
Offer decisions are made by the Recruiting Committee and the Board of Directors upon completion of the summer program. We will personally notify each summer associate with our decision.
