Wishing Glenn Hanni a Happy 90th Birthday

We are thrilled to announce that Glenn Hanni has turned 90 years old today. Glenn can only be described as a marathon attorney. He still comes to work every day and around the 5 o’clock hour if he sees you leaving the office he will only ask one question, “Working a half day today?” Glenn is a great mentor and leader and better father and husband. Happy Birthday Glenn!

Glenn C. Hanni was born in Moore, Idaho in 1923. He received a B.S. degree in Naval Science and a J.D. from the University of Utah in 1948, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. He served as Deputy Attorney for Salt Lake County from 1948-1950.

Mr. Hanni became a member of the Utah State Bar in 1948; the U.S. District Court, District of Utah and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit in 1950; and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1971. He was recipient of the Utah Defense Lawyer Association’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year” award in 1999 and the Federal Bar Association’s “Outstanding Lawyer” award in 1997. He was named “Utah Trial Lawyer of the Year” in 1985. He was a member of the Panel of Arbitrators Complex Cases for the American Arbitration Association. He was a member of the Utah Governmental Immunity Committee and assisted in drafting Utah Governmental Immunity Legislation. He is a member of the Salt Lake County and American Bar Associations and served as President of the Salt Lake County Bar Association from 1957-1958. He is a member of the Utah State Bar and served as Chairman: Tort Claims Committee from 1959-1966 and Joint Medical-Legal Committee from 1962-1965. He is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and Master of the Bench for the George Sutherland Inns of Court II. He was a Lieutenant (j.g.) in the U.S. Navy and served as a pilot during World War II for two and a half years.

Mr. Hanni’s areas of practice include Products Liability, Commercial Litigation, Aviation, Medical and Legal Malpractice, and Insurance Defense.
