Peter H. Christensen was given the Legacy Award by the Utah Defense Lawyers Association

This award is given to those that devote of at least 75% of their practice to the defense of insurance companies or their insureds, have also practiced for at least 15 years,  and demonstrated excellent and distinguished service in this area.

Peter has more than 30 years’ experience in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, bad faith, trucking, cargo, construction defect, product defect, fires, and contract litigation. Peter’s clients are insurance carriers and their insureds, transportation companies, product manufacturers and a variety of corporate entities. Peter has successfully resolved hundreds of cases through either settlement, mediation, arbitration, or jury trials. Peter has defended clients in 48 first chair jury trials.

Sadé A. Turner was awarded the Raymond S. Uno Award by the Utah Bar Association.

This is awarded to a Utah State Bar attorney whose professionalism, public service, and dedication improves the legal profession, enhances the administration of justice, and the delivery of legal services in Utah. Sadé was highlighted for her history of encouraging new efforts and engaging in significant activity on behalf of the advancement of minorities in the legal profession.

Sadé Turner graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 2006 and practices civil litigation at Strong & Hanni.  Sadé’s practice focuses primarily on family law and insurance related matters, where she represents individuals as well as their companies when they are sued.  She also represents insurers in first party lawsuits.  Sadé is a skilled and experienced trial attorney.  She is the chair of the firm’s Family Law practice group, Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Information Technology Committee, and currently serves on the firm’s Board of Directors.

Jack D. Smart was given the Horizon Award by the Utah Defense Lawyers Association

This award is given to those that devote of at least 75% of their practice to the defense of insurance companies or their insureds, have also practiced less than 15 years,  and demonstrated excellent and distinguished service in this area.

Jack is a native Utahn with a background in politics and the great outdoors. Jack worked his way through the University of Utah, and helping with local election campaigns. Jack moved to Eugene Oregon to attend law school and clerked with a plaintiffs workers compensation firm in Yakima Washington, before realizing he missed the mountains of the Wasatch front. Jack has always enjoyed advocacy and the challenges the law can present. He enjoys working with people, constantly towards the best outcome for his clients. Jack brings a unique perspective, having worked on both sides of civil disputes. Jack currently concentrates his practice on insurance defense, construction law, aviation liability, workers compensation, medical cannabis and transportation.
