Matt W. Harrison

Matt’s practice is focused primarily on employment law in both the public and private sectors. Matt has also engaged in general litigation on a variety of matters, including contractual disputes and assorted tort claims.

Matt has widespread experience with all aspects of the litigation process. Matt has represented clients from the initiation of a suit through dispositive motions, oral argument, to trials and appeals, winning cases in both state and federal court. Matt’s experience includes dealing with unemployment insurance issues, and he has worked on many pre-litigation administrative cases in both the Utah Labor Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Matt has also had great success resolving cases through mediation, both at the administrative stage, during litigation and even following dispositive rulings from the court.

Matt’s experience also includes substantial involvement with public employees and employers at the local, state and federal levels. This experience ranges from analyzing policies at the local level, to participating in disciplinary actions and appeal hearings on the local, state and federal levels, to litigation. Matt has also helped clients navigate complicated pre-litigation issues, including notices of claim and governmental immunity issues.
