Michael J. Miller

Michael is the Managing Shareholder of Strong & Hanni, and he remains an active leader within the Firm’s Health Care Law Group.  Michael represents hospital, specialty clinic, and physician clients in health care compliance and complex litigation. His experience with health care compliance includes advising clients in patient privacy, professional licensing and credentialing, Anti-Kickback and Stark.  Michael previously served on the DRI’s Drug and Medical Device Steering Committee.  In that role, Michael had national exposure to issues regarding FDA compliance and other regulatory matters.

Michael has successfully defended numerous, high stakes medical malpractice cases at trial. His vast experience has given Michael an unparalleled understanding of the issues affecting health care providers and the ability to carefully and efficiently evaluate each case. Michael understands the value to his clients of being willing to try cases, yet he recognizes the inherent risks of trial. Michael works closely with physicians, hospital clients, and risk managers to develop a litigation plan that serves the interests of all stakeholders.  Michael has witnessed first-hand the positive results that can be achieved in negotiations by having a trial lawyer on your team.

Prior to joining Strong & Hanni in 2002, Michael J. Miller practiced in Spokane, Washington at the law firm of Richter-Wimberely (1999-2002). While in Washington, Michael represented clients in litigation involving medical malpractice, commercial disputes and product liability. During that time, Michael developed the skills necessary to foster effective case resolution in complex matters. In 2002, Michael returned to his native Utah to join Strong & Hanni.

Michael has authored several articles and is a regular presenter on topics important to physicians, clinical trial professionals and product manufacturers.
