Jehicob Torres is a litigation associate at Strong & Hanni, where he represents clients in complex civil litigation, with a practice focused on insurance defense, labor and employment matters, and commercial disputes. His practice includes all stages of litigation, including case assessment, written discovery, motion practice, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, mediations, and appearances before state and federal courts.
Jehicob has developed substantial experience in written and oral advocacy, including briefing and successfully arguing motions before the court. His federal practice includes matters before the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, where he has represented corporate and insurance clients in disputes involving insurance coverage and liability. He approaches litigation with an emphasis on careful legal analysis, strategic motion practice, and persuasive advocacy.
Before joining Strong & Hanni, Jehicob clerked for the Honorable Alberto Rivas in New Jersey, where he gained firsthand experience with judicial decision-making, courtroom procedure, and civil litigation. He also externed for Justice Paige Petersen of the Utah Supreme Court as a law student.
Jehicob earned his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2024. During law school, he won first place in a national moot court competition and was a finalist in two additional competitions, developing extensive experience in legal research, writing, and oral argument. He served as president of the Latino/a Law Student Association, volunteered with the BYU Community Legal Clinic, and was selected as a UCLI Durham Fellow.
Jehicob earned his B.A. in Public Administration and Public Policy from Utah Valley University in 2020, graduating magna cum laude. He is admitted to practice in Utah and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah.
He is fluent in Spanish and is currently learning Portuguese. Outside of his legal practice, Jehicob enjoys hiking, pickleball, and Latin dancing.
