Ryan Atkinson and Jack Smart recently received a jury verdict in favor of their client, the Dodo Restaurant located in Sugarhouse, in a four-day jury trial in Salt Lake City. This was only the second civil jury trial to proceed in Salt Lake County since the COVID-19 pandemic began last year. The plaintiff claimed she fell down stairs at the Dodo on her way to restroom, and that she injured both of her shoulders, requiring multiple surgical procedures. She sought damages in the high six figures, but after receiving the evidence, the jury concluded that the Dodo was not at fault for the plaintiff’s fall.
