Scott L. Smith

Scott brings substantial litigation experience to Strong & Hanni, including experience representing parties on both sides of the aisle. Prior to joining Strong & Hanni, Scott worked for a plaintiffs firm, where he helped secure multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for injured plaintiffs. Prior to that, Scott worked several years practicing insurance defense in various areas, including workers compensation, medical malpractice, transportation, and premises liability. Scott’s practice at Strong & Hanni is focused on insurance defense.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Utah Valley University. He went on to attend law school at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. While in law school, Scott participated in various activities including moot court, trial advocacy, and law review. Scott also completed externships with the Utah Court of Appeals, the Utah Attorney General’s office, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Outside of the office, Scott enjoys spending time in the Utah mountains with his wife and three children.
