Congratulations to Kristin VanOrman and Jessica Johnston on their victory in a seven-day jury trial. Kristin and Jessica successfully defended a young girl who had been involved in a minor motor vehicle accident. A few minutes after the accident occurred, the plaintiff, who had heard the accident from a nearby gas station, had run into the street to try and provide aid. While running across the street, she was struck by a speeding vehicle. The plaintiff claimed that she sustained a traumatic brain injury and other damages because of our client’s initial car accident. She sought $14 million at trial.

The trial involved questioning a litany of witnesses and complex strategy regarding jury instructions and applicable case law.  After hearing the case, the jury deliberated for forty-five minutes before reaching a verdict that our client did not cause the plaintiff’s injuries.

This was an all or nothing type case, and a hard-fought victory.
